JOB PURPOSE
To handle receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities in order to maximise quality of warehouse operations and mitigate losses, and to support the best storage management practices in compliance with WFP warehouse standards and established guidelines.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
- Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
- Language: Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
- Work Experience: At least 4 years progressively responsible work expereince in warehousing, logistics, supply-chain handling receipt/dispatch and verification of commodities, warehouse supervision and commodity reconcilliation.
Knowledge & Skills;
- Experience using logistics databases to extract routine reports.
- Experience in managing warehouses with Food and Non-Food Items.
- Experience in managing inventories.
- Experience in processing invoices.

Tally Assistant, SC2, Kakuma
JOB PURPOSE
To provide support to the supply chain team activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Supervise the loading, off-loading and stacking of the commodities and assist the Storekeeper to keep updated records on stack cards, and/or computer inventory lists
- Make appropriate remarks on the consignor’s documents & on WFP tally sheets when differences are observed between consigned and received quantities;
- Supervise cleaning of warehouses after loading, offloading and reconstitution of commodities as required.
- Supervise sample checks and controls of incoming goods both food and non -food commodities by such methods as physical counts, random weight checks, rejection of any spoiled commodity, reconditioning of underweight bags, etc to ascertain that they meet the required specifications and to report anomalies to the storekeeper, if any;
- Prepare the dispatch of goods upon request of the storekeeper and against official and approved documentation;
- Participate in periodic physical inventory checks as assigned by the storekeeper;
- Report and, in consultation with the storekeeper, undertake re-bagging/re-packing, reconstitution and segregation of damaged food;
- implement proper stacking according to commodity and batch numbers.
- Prepare dispatch tally sheets for commodities issued from the warehouse;
- Distribute tally sheets to the users as per WFP guidelines;
- Assist the storekeepers’ supervision and training of casual labour or contractor/Service Provider’s staff;
- Perform other related duties as required.

- A minimum of two years of related experience in inventory keeping or warehousing in logistic/transport operations.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
- A minimum of two years of related experience in inventory keeping or warehousing in logistic/transport operations.
- Ability to handle a large volume of food and non-food items in a well organized manner under time constraints;
- Ability to maintain accurate and precise records and stores;
- Ability to recognize data discrepancies and bring to the attention of the appropriate supervisor and/or officer;
- Courteous and tactful and able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.

Assistant Storekeeper
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Support receipt/dispatch commodities including transhipment (truck to truck) against official approved documentation (e.g. waybills and/or delivery notes) ensuring accuracy in physical count of commodities including the quality in compliance with the established standards.
2. Prepare and verify warehouse and transport documents, and maintain confidential files and accurate warehouse transaction records, to ensure immediate reporting on commodity movements in line with the corporate requirements.
3. Support daily warehouse closing reconciliation and accurate inventory checks in compliance with the warehouse management requirements.
4. Perform daily inspections and prepare reports on the quantity and quality of the commodities received/dispatched and handled, and refer to the supervisor for appropriate action.
5. Support implementation of appropriate measures to safeguard food and non-food commodities to ensure quality control using standard preventive measures in line with WFP established procedures and authorization received from the supervisor.
6. Monitor condition of the warehouse and commodities and take appropriate actions to support efficient warehouse space-utilization and well-organized commodity storage following WFP warehouse standards.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Successful completion of secondary school education. Training in stores management or related course is desirable.
Experience: At least one or two years of progressively responsible support experience including at least one year in the field of statistics, administration, accounting or another related field.
Skills: Ability to maintain accurate and precise records and stocks; recognize data discrepancies and bring these to the attention of the appropriate supervisor and/or officer. Maintain the WFP warehouse in good and hygienic order and supervise its operations. Should be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision. Should possess good interpersonal skills, courtesy and tact and be able to work patiently and effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Language: Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
• Experience monitoring various aspects of logistics operations.
• Experience in supporting warehouse management.
• Experience in supporting inventory management.
• Experience in data entry and extracting routine reports.
