Sector Specialist, Dairy

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the sub-sector policy development and contribute to efforts to formulate the Bank’s particular strategy relating to the assigned sub-sector.

HSE & Internal Sustainability Manager

Job Purpose

Responsible for ensuring highest health, safety, and environment standards for conducive, safe and healthy working environment for bank staff, customers, visitors and contractors/suppliers. Spearhead EBKL internal sustainability initiatives by innovating technical solutions that reduce waste, wastage and cutting costs i.e. reduce, reuse and recycling programs, alternative energy use, and water conservation efforts hence to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist the Bank in complying with current occupational, safety and health legislation and regulations with the objective of ensuring that all reasonable and proper measures are taken to protect the safety health and environment of the employees, customers, contractors, suppliers and visitors.
  • To spearhead internal sustainability and sustainable projects within the Bank operations, facilities management and supply chain.
  • Spearhead implementation of EBKL decarbonization plan in the achievement of Net Zero.
  • Baselining of sustainability within the Bank: – business climate impact analysis.
  • Development of sustainability policies in own operations.

Qualifications

  • Recognized certification in sustainability
  • Recognized certifications in Health, safety and Environment

Job Purpose 

Responsible for the management of the acquisition of goods and services for assigned category and ensuring that processes and tools are in place and optimized to achieve the best

Key Responsibilities

Governance

  • Consistency in adherence to and application of established policies, processes and tools to achieve optimal efficiency, compliance and cost containment for all sourcing related activities.

Qualifications

  • Academic Qualification: A university degree in Supply Chain or business-related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
  • Professional Qualification: Member of KISM/ CIPS
  • Desired work experience: At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar role in medium or large size organization.

Technical Competencies: 

  • Technical skills to effectively perform supply chain management activities/tasks in a manner that consistently produces high quality service.
  • Knowledge and effective application of all relevant supply chain management regulation, processes, procedures and guidelines to consistently achieve required compliance standards or benchmarks.
