Truck Driver (Warehouse)

  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Qualification: BA/BSc/HND
  • Location: Nairobi

Driving and Transportation (60% of time)

  • Safely operates U.S. Government-owned or leased vehicles including heavy or light-duty trucks, pick-up trucks, vans, cargo vans, etc., as required to transport expendable and non-expendable items to and from the warehouse to office building, residential properties, and other locations.
  • Safely operates forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, trolleys, and other material handling equipment to move supplies to and from proper storage areas.
  • Cleans, polishes, and checks the vehicle before and after operation to ensure it is in serviceable condition. Conducts vehicle inspections and reports deficiencies to the supervisor. Performs minor vehicle maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Handles cash up to $1,000 and/or handles a government fuel credit card for a vehicle with a $300 limit.

Warehouse Operations and Maintenance (20% of time)

  • Performs loading and unloading of both expendable and non-expendable items, including but not limited to furniture and appliances, from trucks/vans to warehouses.
  • Assists in organizing, preparation, and delivery of items from the warehouse to office buildings, residences, and other locations.
  • Assembles and dismantles or moves furniture and appliances without causing damage to U.S. Government property.
  • Assists in packing, unpacking, and delivery of welcome kits to new arrivals as directed by the supervisor. Organizes and distributes expendable supplies to customers and sections as required.
  • Oversees the loading and unloading of trucks to ensure safe operation and no damage to Embassy property.

Inventory (10% of time)

  • Assists with inventory to ensure items are stored properly, theft is avoided, and no safety or fire hazards exist.
  • Conducts individual inventories of residences and inspects items for theft or damage to Embassy property. Reports damaged or missing items for replacement.
  • Assists in arranging items for sale or disposal.

Other Duties Assigned (10% of time)

  • Provides manual assistance during visits or events such as setting up control rooms, safeguarding property, and tracking items and equipment.
  • Escorts visitors, outside contractors, and non-cleared employees as required.
  • May provide manual labor assistance to other sections or offices as directed.

Voucher Examiner (FMC) – All Interested Applicants

Basic Function of the Position:
Serves as a Voucher Examiner in the Financial Management Center (FMC), reporting to the Supervisory Voucher Examiner. Responsible for examining, reviewing, auditing, monitoring, and processing payments for over sixty (60) ICASS Agency entities within the U.S. Mission in Kenya. The position involves processing a variety of complex payments, reconciling vendors’ accounts, liaising with relevant Tax Authorities, and processing employee claims and vouchers for various categories.

Position Summary:
The incumbent reports to various sections throughout the Embassy, providing administrative assistance as needed. Duties include drafting correspondence, diplomatic notes, and demarches, typing reports and cables, preparing briefing books, organizing and maintaining filing systems, and other administrative functions as directed by section chiefs.
