About Psychosocial Support Fund
- This project will provide a psychosocial support fund for project participants. These funds will be made available to any participants, especially young men and women community influencers, who request psychosocial support as a result of challenges or trauma they have experienced as a result of their participation in the program. The funds will finance psychosocial support services provided by trusted third parties.
Objective of Psychosocial Support
Specifically, the objectives of the psychosocial support sessions are as follows:
- To finance psychosocial service providers who will train and support the TOTs in providing psychosocial support to their peers and the communities affected by effects of violent extremism.
- To provide a psychosocial support fund for project participants especially young men and women community influencers that have experienced trauma as a result of their participation in the program.
Deliverables
- TOTs in Garissa and Lamu counties to gain knowledge on trauma healing support
- TOTs in Garissa and Lamu counties to offer psychosocial support to members of their own community
- Participants are connected to fellow peers, government and non-government entities for support and guidance
- Weekly summary of the progress
- Monthly report on the progress of the sessions
- Develop a client led recovery model for each of the persons dis-engaged

Requirements
- Proficiency in English and one of the local languages in Lamu and Garissa Counties.
- Experience in conducting similar assignments.
- Trained to acknowledge the psychological, emotional, and physiological effects of traumatic events.
- Understand the journey of life.
- Well conversant with multiple coping skills and other useful tools in therapy.
- Demonstrate skills, empathy, active listening skills, social and communication skills, boundary setting, critical thinking, patience, observant and confidentiality.
- Contextual knowledge and experience in working in Lamu and Garissa counties.
