UNDP is looking for a Graphic Design Assistant, G6, to join its team and provide creative and technical support for various publications, web pages, data presentations and other communication products. You will work with clients to understand their needs and objectives, and deliver high-quality design solutions that meet their expectations.

- A high school diploma or equivalent, and supplemental training in graphic design or related graphics arts study.
- At least seven years of experience in publications production, including desktop publishing, graphic design and layout, or related area. If you have a first level university degree, you only need five years of experience.
- Experience in web design or related area, preferably using online tools such as Canva, Wix or Squarespace.
- Experience in data analytics or related area, preferably using visualization tools and preparing reports.
- Creative thinking, visual communication, creativity, graphic design and creative design skills.

As a Graphic Design Assistant, G6, your main responsibilities will be:
- Participating in initial meetings with clients to discuss potential design projects, such as the content, objectives, media, options, specifications, costs and deadlines.
- Independently undertaking design assignments for a variety of UN-sponsored activities, such as conferences, events and campaigns. You will conceptualize and develop design proposals for review by clients, which may include photographic, illustrative or more abstract graphic solutions.
- Preparing all approved designs in electronic format for final review and printing. You will also review color and print proofs as required.
- Providing guidance and support throughout the project production process. You will coordinate and follow-up with clients and other relevant parties, such as copywriters, proofreaders, production staff and cartography staff. You will also ensure that the project is on schedule.
- Conceptualizing and designing the layout for web pages for new or existing websites using online web design tools. You will produce the websites requested by clients, which may include publications, video content, animations and other information related to their meeting, event or project.
- Assisting with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports. You will use visualization tools and report templates to share information, respond to queries, manage knowledge and support planning and decision making.
- Assisting with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.
