Job Vacancies at Plan International: Project Coordinator for Seaweed Farming
Plan International is a global organization that works to advance children’s rights and equality for girls. We are looking for a Project Coordinator for Seaweed Farming to join our team in Kwale County, Kenya. You will be responsible for:
- Coordinating and providing technical support for the project interventions related to seaweed farming
- Engaging with various stakeholders, such as KMFRI and Cascadia Seaweed, to ensure smooth project implementation
- Conducting a gendered market assessment, seaweed value chain analysis and developing suitable and sustainable seaweed enterprises
- Liaising with other project teams for synergy and integration of project interventions
- Reporting, monitoring and evaluating the project progress and outcomes
To be eligible for this position, you need to have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Biodiversity Conservation, Marine Conservation, Natural Resource Management, Climate Change or any other relevant degrees
- At least 4 years’ experience in project management/coordination
- Knowledge of or an interest in marine ecosystems, women economic empowerment, gender integration, sustainable livelihoods, child rights and rights-based programming
- Skills in project planning, implementation, reporting, monitoring and evaluation
- Knowledge of mapping systems such as Geographical Information Systems
- Experience in community development, working with children, youths and women groups
- Ability to use local languages for Coast Region (an added advantage)
- Ability to ride and use Motor Bike for field Operations
