Project Manager, Humanitarian Strategy & Transformation

ROLE PURPOSE:Â
This role sits within the Humanitarian Strategy and Transformation Team. Project Managers are assigned from the team to specific projects which support the implementation of our global humanitarian ambition.
The projects this role will manage will shift in line with changing organisational needs. At a minimum, the Project Manager will be responsible for delivery of the following key projects:
- Delivery and continuous improvement of our Save the Children Humanitarian Plan (SCHP): The Project Manager will coordinate multiple work streams of activity to ensure that Save the Children is able to clearly articulate global humanitarian needs and priorities to internal and external audiences, and track progress against the plan throughout the year.
- Compliance with cross-sector commitments: Managing processes associated with key external commitments including the CHS and Grand Bargain. Ensuring wider organisational commitment and buy-in to these change agendas and ensuring clarity regarding individual functions and teams responsibilities to meeting these commitments.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Experience of successfully managing projects and following through to ensure progress within agreed timeline, preferably in an international NGO environment.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of programme and project practices and standards including standardised Project Management Methodologies
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including senior level executives
- Ability to adopt a pro-active approach to problem solving offering solutions as appropriate.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to mobilise and influence others.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present to all levels of the organisation
- Sound judgement and an ability to effectively prioritise multiple tasks in a constantly changing environment

Resourcing Manager

ROLE PURPOSE:Â
This role sits within the Transformation Delivery Portfolio Management Office. The resource manager will take the lead in defining and implementing a standard process supported by required tooling; guiding teams from the Business as well as Projects including project managers and IT leads with the planning and allocating of IT and BA resources needed to deliver on requirements; determine the portfolio’s demand for resources and ensure its capacity to meet staffing needs of projects; support the assignment of resources to a project’s tasks; participate in the hiring process; ensure alignment between resource forecasts and budget; and work closely with Finance Business Partners in regular financial control of forecasted demand costs.
This will be a critical role to ensure we effectively manage resource and anticipate resourcing issues ahead of these becoming a reality and disrupting or delaying initiatives from progressing. This is also critical to ensure that resources are allocated to the highest priority work where demand exceeds capacity.
The role holder will need to be analytical and able to step into the detail, have a good understanding of IT and BA resourcing to pressure test resource estimates and engage Project, IT and Business Leadership to effectively manage required communications and where necessary difficult messages where work cannot be completed within the proposed timelines.

- Previous experience as a resource manager

Project Coordinator – Transformation Delivery Initiatives (Maternity Cover)

ROLE PURPOSE:Â
This role will support projects across our Transformation Delivery portfolio with general project coordination and administration. This will be a key role to support delivery of these critical initiatives and will have the opportunity to learn and develop across a range of different project types working with Senior Level staff from across Transformation Delivery and beyond.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Pro-actively manage a variety of internal and external meetings on behalf of projects, including meetings at Senior Management level. Tasks include coordinating meeting invitations, room booking if required, taking minutes, publishing meeting materials on SharePoint and ensuring meeting actions and decisions are documented
- Manage logistics for meetings and workshops. Tasks include managing participant lists, sending invitations, venue booking, travel support for participants, e.g. visa invitation letters, material collation, liaison with suppliers, coordinating invoice payments and coordinating internal programme and project meetings
- Support with the design and production of internal communications materials related to Transformation Delivery projects. Tasks include proof reading key project reports and slide packs, drafting meeting materials and formatting documents to align with Save the Children’s branding
- Manage project document storage and online portals to ensure all content is well structured and up to date
- Managing access to SharePoint sites and Microsoft Teams
- Oversee the induction process for new joiners to the Project teams. Tasks include: setting up and running induction calls, procure equipment such as laptop and any other homeworking support
- Support to Project Leads and Project Managers. Tasks include: updating team action cards and support in ensuring actions are completed by the team within the agreed timeframe, extracting and updating progress reports and ensuring these are communicated to the team, support in project planning and ensuring deadlines are met
- Develop strong, positive relationships with all relevant stakeholders across the Transformation Delivery portfolio
- Support with project Finances by processing invoices, creating and managing Purchase Orders

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Previous experience in an office administration, Project Coordinator or similar role, preferably in an international environment
- Experience of planning and organising meetings and events, with a strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
