Clinic Accountant

The role
The Clinic Accountant will work under the Head of Finance & Clinics Transformation Manager to support the Finance and Accounting function in day-to-day operations as well as maintain order and transparency for the clinics under the Clinic transformation franchise . This will be a permanent role that will involve accounting, reporting as well as ensuring adherence to internal controls and statutory compliance. The role is based in Nairobi but involves travel to the various clinics within Nairobi. The ideal candidate should be well versed in financial principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and great attention to detail.`
Responsibilities:
- Conducting financial due diligence for clinics that are in the clinic transformation pipeline.
- Training clinician owners on appropriate financial reporting and financial management.
- Ensuring that all Ilara funding transactions are reconciled and attributed to the correct accounts
- Oversee supplier, cash and bank reconciliations
- Monthly financial reporting for each clinic
- Analysis of monthly trends and forecasts for each clinic
- Invoicing transformation clinics according to the collaboration agreement and ensuring the collection is done promptly
- Field visits to the clinics to ensure the businesses are running well & assist to maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the month close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting

Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance,Commerce or related field
- Enrolled, part or fully qualified in the accounting profession with a recognized institute (ACCA, CPA, and CIMA.)
- Knowledge of IFRS and Kenyan tax legislation.
- High/Unquestionable integrity and Exceptional work ethic
- 2+ years experience in the accounting and finance sector
- Experience working with accounting reporting software, Odoo, Xero

Finance Associate

The Role
The Finance Associate will work under the Head of Finance to support the Finance and Accounting function in day-to-day operations as well as maintain order and transparency for the companys finances. This will be a permanent role that will involve accounting, reporting as well as ensuring adherence to internal controls and statutory compliance.The ideal candidate should be well versed in financial principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and great attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect, verify, and reconcile accounts payables records and its balances
- Analyze and prepare weekly accounts payables reconciliation reports for each of our payment channels.
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Preparation of assigned balance sheet schedules and assist in balancing general ledger accounts
- Prepare adequate accruals for all unpaid invoices of a particular month and make releases once payment has been effected. All accruals should be reconciled to the general ledger on a monthly basis
- Regular issuing of updated monthly statements to vendors by the 3rd of the subsequent month.
- Assist in preparing payment vouchers ensuring proper documentation and recording to the accounting system on a daily basis.
- Assist in ensuring efficient, timely and accurate recording of payments and tracking of accounts payable.
- Assist in preparing and processing bank payments and reconciliation of banking activities
- Posting revenue journals & revenue reconciliation
- Assist in compiling and analyzing financial reports
- Assist with audit related duties.
- Support month-end closing procedures by passing necessary entries
- Support with any other tasks as assigned by the management
Requirements
- University degree in Accounting, Finance,Commerce or related field
