Intern, Social and Behavior Change Communications

Deliverables

A final report and/or presentation of the projects will be presented to an internal Worldreader committee at a determined date closer to the end of the projects.

Qualifications

  • Must be a resident and undergraduate student at a recognized university in Kenya (for example, Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences such as Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology is preferable) or/and a Communications program
  • Exposure to SBCC interventions or academic understanding on the topic would be an asset
  • Marketing, Communication strategy and Advertising background is advantageous
  • Knowledge of research methods (quantitative and qualitative) with familiarity in developing forms and tools
  • Knowledge of developing and executing behavior change concepts would be an asset. Ability to craft basic designs in Canva, photoshop or InDesign is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required, including strong communication ability
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Independent, self- starter, with innovative ideas and drive to develop new initiative

  • Commitment to time frame

Intern, Instructional Design

Scope of Work

  • Collaborate with the Manager of Instructional Design to identify requirements needed for training content curation;
  • Work with the Manager of Instructional Design to develop instructional content and identify appropriate instructional methods;
  • Using instructional design principles and techniques, develop storyboards and scripts for digital learning solutions;
  • Redesign instructional materials to ensure accessibility and usability;
  • Research and identify learning activities and technologies that can be incorporated in training programs;
  • Assist in the development of a training calendar, ensuring that all training materials are delivered on time
  • Identify evaluation methods to check effectiveness of instructional materials and training;
  • Participate in collecting and organizing feedback on existing training programs and materials;
  • Perform ad-hoc projects as they are assigned.

Timeframe

Worldreader seeks an Instructional Design intern for a period of 3 months. This is an unpaid internship.

Qualifications

  • Must be a resident and undergraduate studying at a recognized university in Kenya studying educational technology, instructional design, communications degree or equivalent
  • Have a sound understanding of end to end design and development experience from Instructional Design to delivery
  • Think creatively and bring digital learning content to life to engage user
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong analytical, interviewing, research, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Graphic design and layout skills
  • Experience creating instructional materials
  • Experience using interactive eBooks
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote work environment
  • Commitment to time frame
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have own computer and reliable internet connection
