Intern – Communication Support
Competencies

Education
Applicant must meet one of the following requirements:
- be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in Communications Sciences, Journalism, digital communications, or related areas;
- Graphic design studies will be valued.
- Background and demonstrated keen interest in environment and health, gender and pollution.
- Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Work Experience
- No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
- demonstrate keen interest in environment and health, gender and pollution is desired
Languages
- English is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English is required for the Internship Programme.
- Knowledge of one of the following UN language is an advantage (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish)

Education
Applicant must meet one of the following requirements:
- be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
- Preferred area of study: Computing, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a relevant area of study related to computer/data sciences.
- Understanding of common databases and data structures.
- Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform. Proficiency in Excel, PowerAutomate and Power BI (or suitable equivalent) is preferable.
- Back-end development skills, such as APIs.
- Excellent communication skills as there is a need to discuss technical principles and business processes in simple language to people at all levels.
- Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
