International Labour Law Counsel
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drafting Employment contracts for various markets in line with Burn’s policies and updating the same to ensure compliance with the Law and policies.
- Partnering with the HR team to proactively develop HR Policies, processes, and initiatives that minimize legal risk and help create a positive workplace culture.
- Prepares, directs, and conducts training programs on employee relations matters; e.g employment law updates, disciplinary matters, investigative techniques, and documentation preparation.
- Lead or provide advice and mentorship on internal investigations. Recommends and helps implement appropriate actions.
- Identifying and assessing labor law risks and mitigation measures
- Remaining current on emergent labor and employment law developments in our different markets and advising on the impact on the Company and implementing any necessary changes.
- Representing and advising the HR team and team leaders on employee relations matters, performance management, employee separations, redundancies, and unfair employment practices.
Skills and Experience:
- Have 5+ years of experience practicing labor and employment law at a multinational company or law firm.
- Have or be a licensed lawyer to practice in any of the above markets.
- Have working knowledge of Sub-Saharan Africa Labour and Employment Laws specifically Ghana, Nigeria, DRC, Mozambique, Kenya, and Tanzania.
- Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Commercial Business Analyst
Duties and Responsibilities
- Market Performance Reports: Produce regular reports detailing the performance of country distribution operations under the Business Unit, covering sales, distribution, end-user registration, and other key commercial and carbon indicators, as well as key strategic initiatives. Gather data from a range of stakeholders promptly and provide detailed commercial analysis for the Senior Leadership team.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Own the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement for the Business Unit at the HQ level and produce regular analysis reports. In collaboration with Business Unit Managers, oversee P&L management at the country level.
- KPI & OKR Tracking and Management: Track and manage KPIs and OKRs for country distribution operations under the Business Unit; act as the main point person for the Business Unit’s KPIs and OKRs at the HQ level. Develop dashboards to improve data visibility and integrity.
- New Market Expansion: Support in developing the Business Unit’s new market expansion strategy; assist in new market assessment research (fuel landscape, total addressable market, competitor analysis, price walks) and gate development.
- Project Management: Be the Business Unit’s organizer and go-between across multiple departments inside BURN’s dynamic matrix organization structure.
- Special Projects: Carrying out specific tasks – as defined by the Commercial Director – falling outside the scope of the role in question.
- Commercial Admin: Assist the Business Unit with specific order management, ERP, finance, HR, procurement, and general administrative tasks.
Skills and Experience
- 2+ years’ experience working inside a Business Unit/Organization with a focus on the distribution of consumer durable goods and/or fast-moving consumer goods; strong understanding of key performance indicators relating to commercial distribution.
- 2+ years’ experience managing P&L statements for Commercial Business Units.
- Strong report development, and analytic/number-crunching background, supported by excellent graphical presentation skills.
- 2+ years’ experience in project management and demonstrated ability to coordinate complex projects with many stakeholders to deliver results on time.
- Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in formal and informal settings with diverse stakeholders across different departments.

Commercial Director – Electric
Primary Responsibilities:
Commercial Strategy:
- Play an active role in the development and implementation of the strategic direction the product should take.
- Define the product B2B and B2C sales strategies.
- Ensure plans are well supported with market research and testing.
- Communicate and collaborate with senior management to insure alignment with other business goals.
- Defining (in collaboration with product management) project objectives, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships.
Sale Pilot Design:
- Work with the market research team to design and execute pilots to answer key product questions, collect user feedback, and measure product impact.
- Own the sales process definition for research pilots.
- Support pilot design by setting pilot, goals, methodologies, and locations.
- Set goals to reach grant-funded milestones.
- Proactively identify major project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Problem-Solving: Solve a variety of challenges as they arise in distribution, staffing, partnerships, and financials.
Team management:
- Implement and lead systems and tools for proper management of direct reports.
- Coordinate team members, procurements, schedules, and tasks to deliver results for project milestones.
- Work together with the project controller (finance) to keep the budget tracking updated.

CrossBoundary Energy (CBE) is recruiting a full-time Business Development Director to actively support and drive the team in identifying, developing, and signing renewable energy hybrid projects. CBE’s renewable energy financing contracts secure cheaper, cleaner power at no upfront cost to African companies. The Business Development Director will primarily be responsible for the commercial development of complex energy solutions for Africa’s leading businesses, especially in the mining sector. You will meet with target clients, develop and present bespoke proposals for local, regional, and global decision-makers, and negotiate and close energy financing contracts. In addition to project activities, you will also periodically evaluate our strategy, tools and processes, and implement improvements to them, including developing new products. This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
