Maternity In-Charge
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take good care of all the puppies and bitches within the maternity wing, Conduct hand over/take over exercise of the maternity wing with the Night supervisor.
- Ensure puppies and bitches in the maternity are fed.
- Clean maternity block, groom puppies and bitches.
- Provide maternity care to bitches.
- Train the puppies on how to bite, play etc.
- Deworm, spray and disinfect bitches and puppies.
- Report any incidences at the maternity to the K9 Manager.
- Ensure puppies are vaccinated.
- Perform any other lawful duties as may be directed from time to time.
Education: Secondary Certificate.
Experience: 1 year experience in K9 Maternity section.
Sniffer In -Charge
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check the physical condition of the sniffer dogs.
- Ensure sniffer kennels are cleaned regularly.
- Ensure sniffer dogs are washed, well-groomed and fed.
- Participate in training of sniffer dogs in liaison with Training Supervisor.
- Ensure periodic deworming, dipping and vaccination of sniffer dogs is done.
- Coordinate the deployment of sniffer dog and handlers to assignments where the
- service is required.
- Perform any other lawful duty as may be instructed from time to time.
Education: Secondary Certificate.
Experience: 5 years experience with Dog Management, 2 years supervisory role in dog handling environment.
Day Supervisor
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deputize the K9 Manager.
- Supervise all the daily chores at the section.
- Oversee the Dog Deployment/collection exercise.
- Develop and execute K9 calendar of events in liaison with the manager.
- Conduct random spot-checks on K9 assignments.
- Review and enforce K9 SOPs.
- Prepare K9 section duty/leave roster.
- Perform all administrative role at the section e.g., requisition for dog requirements,
- documentation, update records of dogs/ puppies.
- Liaise with regional Branch Managers for Dog food re-supply.
- All qualified members of staff (including field staff), who meet the above criteria should
Education: Secondary Certificate.
Experience: 5 years experience with Dog Management, 2 years supervisory role in dog handling environment.
Night Supervisor
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Take care of standby dogs.
- Organize replacement of sick/non-performing dogs at night.
- Receive deployment returns/ reports from K9 drivers.
- Take care of bitches and puppies at the maternity at night.
- Liaise with Fleet Manager to address K9 vehicle breakdown.
- Do any other lawful duties as may be instructed from time to time
Education: Secondary Certificate.
Experience: 5 years experience with Dog Management, 2 years supervisory role in dog handling environment.
Training Supervisor
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop the K9 training programmes for dogs and handlers.
- Ensure training programmes are effectively delivered.
- Participate in the assessment and testing of training attainment.
- Participate in re-training programmes for dogs and for Dog Handlers.
- Establish and maintain training records at K9 section.
- Ensure the training materials and equipment are available and in good condition.
- Perform any other lawful duty as may be instructed from time to time.
Education: Secondary Certificate.
Experience: 5 years experience with Dog Management, 2 years supervisory role in dog handling environment.
Security Officers, Security Ladies and Dog Handlers
MANDATORY BASIC REQUIREMENTS
- Form 4 leavers (Those with higher qualifications will also be considered)
- Height of 5 feet 8 inches for men and 5 feet 7 inches for ladies.
- WA minimum of Grade D Plain in KGSF
- Aged between 24 and 38 years for men and 22 to 28 years for Ladi/ In possession of valid certificate of good conduct.
- (not exceedina one vear old) or read to applv for the same Physically and medically fit
- With good eye sight and sense of hearing.
- Profciencv in English & Kiswahili both oral and written, besides, food interpersonal skills.
- If one has worked elsewhere, then, he must have a clean work historv.
- Post secondary training will be an added advantage.
