Amref Mass Job Openings Paying Up to Ksh.5000 Per Day Clarified,

The African Medical Research Foundation (AMREF) on Wednesday, February 22, clarified reports of a mass recruitment exercise to fill up various posts in the agency

In a statement seen by jobupdatesconnections.co.ke, AMREF flagged a viral advert inviting applications for the jobs as fake and warned the public against attempts to defraud them.

Further, the agency stated that all job openings in the agency are posted on its official websites and are accessible without any fee

“Beware of the false job offers making rounds on social media! Note that All our job openings are posted on our official websites – Remember, no fee is required during the recruitment process,” the statement read.

• AMREF was reacting to a forged notice bearing its letterhead and other identity features purporting to announce vacant roles for an upcoming community surveillance exercise.

  The jobs, according to the statement, ranged from field workers to field officers with benefits of wages to the tune of Ksh5,000 per day.

  The jobs were reportedly designed to last for six months between April and August 2023 in the counties of Kisumu, Nyamira, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira and Homa Bay.

  AMREF’s clarification was the latest in the string of fake job adverts that have targeted state corporations in the recent past.

  Institutions, including the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), have in the past been forced to issue disclaimers distancing themselves from online posts.

  Whilst most do not openly solicit money as a condition for securing jobs, state corporations affected by the fake application calls have maintained that all recruitment exercises are free of charge.

  In the past warnings from affected corporations, Kenyans hoping to secure jobs have been advised to strictly consider information posted on official websites for clarity.

  To spot a fake job advert, look for email addresses and websites. Most organizations use their official emails when inviting applications. You are also advised to scrutinise logos, letterheads and signatures.
